Eligibility Requirements

This is a general list of requirements. Your specific case may vary.

Be a permanent resident of Canada

Have lived in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the last 5 years

Have filed income taxes for 3 years within that period

Pass a citizenship test (if 18–54 years old)

Demonstrate language skills in English or French

Submit the application and attend a citizenship ceremony
